Joji Hashiguchi – We can’t stay anywhere, wild teens of the world (1982)

Second edition made a few months after the first one was totally sold out (also from 1982). Amazing first photobook by this huge reference of Japanese photography that documented the teenagers and street life of Liverpool, London, Nüremberg, East Berlin, New York City, and of course Shinjuku in Tokyo during the early 80s. Joji (or George) Hashiguchi created a mesmerizing mix of subcultures that could be a vague definition of the most obscure scenes of that time, putting together Japanese yakuzas with British anarcho-punks, the squats and the heroine problem of those years, skinheads and b-boys, a perfect summary of the teeange years of a whole generation in occidental countries.
