Disco Expres 380 – Lole y Manuel (1976)

One of the most known couples in Spanish music are Lole y Manuel, who gave a new life to flamenco that in the 70s got mixed with progressive rock and more specifically with Andalusian rock in very interesting ways. Probably the only thing they kept from that trend was the popularity of the music, making it available to everyone, even to many that didn’t like the genre before. Their lyrics are easy to understand and to remember, but that does not make them simple and they carry touching political messages and hopes for better times. Their music is right now one of the flags of Andalusian culture (for some that is just Spanish culture), a symbol used even in Tarantino films (Killbill 2), and their message is a reason to believe in humanity and the power of love.
