Larry Clark – Kids (stills, photos & script) (1995)

The first film work by Larry Clark was the now classic Kids. The portrait of a youth seduced by lust directed by Clark but written by the young Harmony Korine (that was only 19 by the time) was a complete unexpected success that still remains as a cult movie. Drugs, poverty, sex and violence is a formula that the director likes to approach in different projects but in Kids the perfect film selection and the starring of Leo Fitzpatrick, Chloë Sevigny, Rosario Dawson and others make it extremely aesthetic, even if the history is a sad example of the stripped-down reality of the HIV problem. As some said the wound will never heal with films like this, Kids it’s bound to enrage many viewers but after more than 20 years it can be rediscovered as a reminder for newer generations of how teenage years were not too long ago.

This books presents some of the iconic movie stills plus some pictures taken by Clark and the script that Harmony Korine created.
