Rock Comix – Especial rock català (1976)
€18,00
The raise of the hippie movement and its associated music was a bit different in Catalonia than in the US. Instead of Woodstock there was Canet Rock and there was no Janis Joplin, but Pau Riba, Jaume Sisa or Oriol Tramvia. There is no way to compare these two scenes but the ideas behind them and the forces that put them in the stages weren’t that different. The dictatorship and the extremely deprecated cultural space of Spain in that time deactivated most of the ideas. The experimentation was limited but the impact was enormous. The youth desired new experiences and they found it in this small movement that gave them the space to learn, create and enjoy some kind of freedom, something that in that time wasn’t very usual.
This short extra number of Rock Comix is similar to a zine. Contains several texts in Spanish explaining the story of Catalan Rock and some interviews with some of the most famous figures of this musical scene that was limited to that short time. Also has comics of Max, Rubiales, Gaspar Fraga, Roger…
