Nikos Economopoulos – Balkanlarda (2007)

77,00

Nikos Economopoulos spent years taking pictures between Greece and Turkey, and later other Balkan areas. The words of the photographer, as a foreword, explain this work as well as the pictures do so:

“The passing from intimacy to hatred, from peace to war, from celebration to slaughter can occur in an untraceable moment. Here, the symbols of the present are set in a landscape of ruined buildings and toppled monuments. They speak of failed hopes and lacking faith. It is a world at once pure and dangerous, a flaming carpet of conflicting identities.”
